Joueur de cor, il a notamment interprétés des oeuvres de Bach, joué pour des gospels américains d'avant-guerre ou encore dans un registre plus free, accompagné Albert Ayler et Peter Brotzman. On le croise égelement sur scène aux côté d'Arcade Fire et Bell Orchestre. Avec cet album il signe son premier disque solo, enregistré à Montréal dans des conditions live, dans le fameux studio Hotel 2 Tango. A noter deux belles participations vocales : Shara Worden (My Brightest Diamond) et Laurie Anderson.
