C'est l'histoire de frères de sang - Charles Leroy et Teenie Hodges - et de frères de soul - Albert Greene, Willie Mitchell, Hubby Mitchell et Howard Grimes. Et de joueurs de cuivres. Et de chanteurs, de cordes et de coeur - le notre, celui de l'audience qui tombe petit à petit amoureuse du groove crée par les musiciens. Ce set de trois CD compile les 26 singles - les faces A et les faces B - enregistrés par Al Green chez Hi de 1969 à 1978, avec cinq morceaux bonus qui n'étaient pas des singles mais qui ont su séduire les fans. L'édition française contient également un livret rédigé par Olivier Cachin.
