Résumé Breathe capture la légende de l'orgue Hammond B-3, Dr. Lonnie Smith, lors de son 75e anniversaire au Jazz Standard de New York en 2017. Deux autres titres studio qui introduisent et clôturent l'album présentent la collaboration unique entre Doc et Iggy Pop, dont une sublime reprise du tube de 1966 de Donovan Sunshine Superman. Ce soir-là, Lonnie est accompagné de Jonathan Kreisberg à la guitare, Johnathan Blake à la batterie, John Ellis au saxophone ténor, Jason Marshall au saxophone baryton, Sean Jones à la trompette et Robin Eubanks au trombone.
